1st Day of School

Well I'm pretty sure no one reads this blog anymore since I'm averaging about 2 posts a year, but Annie has been bugging me to put some pictures of the kids up. Claire started kindergarten this year and Mason started pre-school. It was a lot more tramatic than we thought; not for the kids, but for Annie. She cried like a baby when Claire got on the bus for the first time. Claire seemed to do ok, she was pretty nervous but these 2 cute little girls sat by her at the bus stop and held her hand when it was time to go. We can always tell when Claire is nervous because she scrunches her nose. Annies was pretty ticked that all her first day of school pictures have scrunchy nose. It's pretty darn cute if you ask me
Claire was pretty nervous to get on the bus, that was the hardest part for us to watch. She looked out the window as the bus drove off, it was so sad. Of coarse we had to jump in the car and follow the bus to school, you know just in case the bus driver got lost or if the bus crashed, or if car jackers were stealing buses that day, or maybe pirates were on the loose. You never know

Luckily none of those things happened and we were there when she got off the bus to walk her to class. Her two little friends that sat next to her on the bus abandoned her so Annie and I got to walk with her. She was trying so hard not to cry. She just stood in line and wouldn't talk. She knew if she tried to say anything to us she would cry so just nodded her head when we asked her questions. But everything turned out great and she absolutely loves school.
Mason started pre school the next day. We tried to drill a couple very important things into Mason's head in the weeks prior to pre school. So when I asked Mason if he was excited to start pre-school he proudly said, "Yes, and I go pee pee all by myself and I wont play with my weenie." Mason's favorite toy is his weiner, so we had to make sure he knew he couldn't play with it at school. We asked his doctor if we should be concerned about his infatuation with himself, but he didn't seem too concerned. He said we should tell Mason he can only play with it when he's in his room, or get him a Big Bird doll to play with instead. Are you serious Doc?? "Hey Mason, go to your room and play with your Big Bird".

Mason is in pre school with his cousin Tate. He loves going to school, and I love picking him up because his teachers are pretty cute. Teachers didn't look like that when I was in school. It's you fault Annie, you picked the teachers. Claire came home from her first day happy as can be. We told her that if she was brave she could do whatever she wanted when she got home. All she wanted to do was eat ice cream. We can't forget our favorite little redhead, Lia. She had fun with the ice cream too. She's currently enrolled in the school of hard knocks. She gets beat up pretty good by Mason, but luckily she has learned to fight back. Tonight she walked up to Mason, lifted her hand as high as she could and smacked him right in the face. Last night she was sitting on my stomach begging for an Ego, or juice, or her binky (it all sounds the same), and she punched me in the nose when I didn't respond fast enough. She's definately not to be messed with.
